Phyllis was predeceased by her mother and father, Hattie and Clarence Kress, and sister Lorraine Beane.
Phyllis is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, Harry J. Curnick, and children: Kathie E. Curnick (Michael Shaffer) of Erving, MA; Michael Curnick (Julie) of Ten Mile, TN; Patricia Curnick of Rochester, NY; Susan Stalls (Ben) of Irondequoit, NY; and David Curnick (Sandi) of Concord, MA. Phyllis was not just a gardener, but a true horticulturalist; she loved her garden and yard, and knew all plants. Phyllis, with Harry, brought up their children to appreciate family fun, which did not have to be expensive. Travels to Henderson Harbor, Vermont, Canada, the backyard pool and cookouts always created stories and laughter. Family events with cousins were particularly special. Phyllis was the best cheerleader for countless school events, sporting activities, dances, bake sales…always including her children's friends. Traveling to various colleges, graduations, weddings and her children's new homes as her children became adults. To her a close family was the key to a happy life.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church (401 Rogers Pkwy, Rochester, NY 14617) on August 25, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Immediately following the service the family welcomes you to Harris Family Center (570 Kings Highway South, Rochester, New York 14617) for light refreshments, a toast to a life well-lived and to share memories and condolences.
