I only met Norman once, through Joe McManus. But Joe talked about him alot and shared many wonderful stories of things he and Norman did. I know that he will be missed by many. My prayers go out to Norman's family and friends.

To Cheryl, Norm's family and friends:
I met Norm in 1971 going to GMI and finally got to work alongside him in the last few years before he retired. He was an Iconic figure at Delphi. His knowledge about the business of manufacturing automotive parts was well respected. Norm had a great presence and sense of humor. He was the kind of guy who made everyone around him feel at ease. In my times of despair, he would pull me down to earth and with that gruff laugh, tell me some joke you can only hear from your best friend. He will be missed. Grover

Norm was one of the nicest persons I ever had the chance to work with at the old Rochester Products (Delphi). He always had a positive spin on things and passed that enthusiasm on to all.

I will miss you NOrm, so much. You made our times at the lake fun and funny. The "GIRLS" talk about how you would put your hat on and kid around with them and talking like Sponge Bob. They liked coming to your house and baking with Cheryl. We will miss you walking from your home to ours to greet each other at the beginning of each year. Mudder can't believe you aren't here anymore. Who would have ever guessed that last Spring was the last greeting we would have had.We called ourselves the Clampettes because we were forever coming to your house to borrow tools. When I walk out on the upper deck I will remember your let me borrow your sander so I could refinish the deck floor. On second thought, what were you, CRAZY for allowing me to do more work????? Yes, you were crazy in the best sense. You have walked your last walk but the vision of you will always be in our minds and hearts and you will never be forgotten. We will imagine you in your boat, where you hid your hat for a year. I guess you won't have any use for that bike we were talking about, will you?? We will do our best to look in on Cheryl, but you know she is tough and can dig a hole better than any of us! Save a room for us up there (you are UP there, aren't you???) and say hi to all of those we have lost. We will meet again someday and in the darkness came light. Love from all of us....Juli, Scott, Stephen, Mudder, Maddi, Brooke Camryn and the rest of our family members.

Norm never failed to bring a smile or laugh into our lives. He brightened up the darkest days with his smile. Generous with his time and spirit, he enriched both of our lives. He will be sorely missed.

I remember Norm mainly as my
brothers' buddy. I remember him pinning me to the floor and laughing with my brothers as I'd yell for help! I used to babysit for him when I was a teenager. I'd think he was in his room asleep and he'd let his guinea pig loose. Grace used to paint his fingernails with something bitter to keep him from biting his nails. He painted cookies with it and offered me some. Mainly, I'll always remember that husky laugh when he found something (almost everything) really funny. Grace and Glenn will welcome him home, I'm sure.

Norm, how can we sum up in a few short words how much you mean to us? Thank you for all the craziness and fun you brought to our lives throughout the years. No one could make us laugh the way you did. We will miss you, our wonderful friend. Forever in our hearts.

To Norm - fellow GMI alumni and ATO brother, RPD and Delphi co-worker and fellow retiree, but most important - a highly regarded friend. I will always remember those days when you pitched for the Tool Engineering softball team, and led the drinking team at Ester's afterwards. I always enjoyed the friendly competition at the bowling lanes where you would do your best to get my goat. I remember your helpful advice to file for Workman's Comp when I got hurt in a company-sponsored league (as you did). And who can forget all those crazy pictures from your annual Canada fishing trip. Through all those times, the one constant was you and your good-natured disposition, always there to cheer us up and help us enjoy life. You were a wonderful guy, and I'm proud to have counted you as a friend. I plan on greeting you at that big ball diamond in the sky!

Thais and I miss Norm. The times we had at our ATO fraternity house at GMI were special. Norm, was always the life of the party, he loved life and we all loved him very much. He will leave a big void in our lives as we were all looking forward to this year's reunion. God's speed brother.

Dear Cheryl,
I'd like to express condolences for your loss. We met you at RGH in the CTICU. Since that day I have sent up prayers for you and Norm. I am sure our Lord holds us in the palms of his hands when we need him. You gave us much advice and one word you gave to us was "accept". If there wasn't so much love there wouldn't be so much sorrow. God bless you.

I am very sad to hear this news, my thoughts and prayers are with your family. I first met Norm when we began our GM/Delphi careers as GMI freshmen in 1968 and was instantly introduced to his "gruff" laugh as so many have mentioned. When asked if I had a nick name, he quickly bestowed one when I answered no and he always greeted me with it whenever we met over the next 40 years. I will definitely miss you my friend. God speed, "Buzz"
