Obituary of Nellie Helen Piendel

Piendel, Nellie "Helen" Irondequoit: On Friday, November 2, 2012, her 88th birthday, surrounded by her loving family. Helen went home to God, her beloved husband, Joe and son, Ken. She is survived by her daughter, Carol (Tom) Raes; son, Joe (Gina) Piendel; daughter-in-law, Janet Piendel; and the loves of her life her grandchildren, Nicole, Rebecca & Philip Piendel, Justin, Eric & Lindsay Raes, Brian & Adam Piendel. She is also survived by her sister, Olga(Robert) Schomske, many brothers &sisters in law, nieces and nephews. Our mom was a warrior, having beat cancer three times, suffered the pain of losing her husband and the heartbreak of losing her son. She was very involved with St. Salome's Women's club for many years, lived her faith and was a wonderful role model for us all. Special thanks to the staff at Elderwood Assisted Living for their loving care of her this past year & to the staff at RGH who treated her with great dignity. Her family will receive friends SUNDAY 1-5pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family MONDAY 10:00am at ST. KATERI at ST. SALOMES CHURCH for her funeral mass.
