Obituary of John L. Maracle

Irondequoit: Passed away peacefully January 3, 2013, at age 87. He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Evelyn Maracle, his brother, Frank, and son, Francis. Survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Rosemary; children Christopher Maracle, Anne (Ernest) Lascell, Mary Lou (Craig) Wilson, Susan (James) Calvert, Stephen (Denise) Maracle; grandchildren Mary (Tom) Kanaley, Matthew and Elizabeth Calvert, Daniel (Karen) and Mark Lascell, Timothy and Peter Wilson, Michelle and Allen Maracle; great-grandaughter, Olivia Lascell; brothers Nelson (Jean) and Thomas (Leslie); nieces Cynthia (Darrell) Panike, Kate (Jeffrey) Walsh, Judy Maracle; sister-in-law Patricia Maracle.
Special thanks to the staff of St. Ann's Transitional Care Center in Irondequoit, and to the staff of Lifetime Care.
He graduated from Aquinas Institute ('43) and Columbia University ('50). He served in the Infantry in World War II, with the Blackhawk (86th) Division. Retired after many years in the insurance industry. He was a 50-year member of the Barbershop Chorus of the Genesee, and a long-time member of St. Salome Men's Club.
His family will receive friends Monday 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Friends are invited to join the family Tuesday (Jan. 8) 10 am at St. Kateri at St. Salome Church, 4282 Culver Rd. Interment to follow at Irondequoit Cemetery. In memory of Jack, donations may be made to the Sea Breeze Volunteer Fire Association.
