I almost can't believe this but as I was standing in the long sad line at Harris to offer condolences to the Genrich family, I learned that Chuck is gone . I am in such shock . How could I not have known ? Chuck helped me through my daughters adolescence !! Oh he truly did...I'd leave the highschool and stop in there after one principal meeting or another. seeking consolation in flowers...and finding it in Chucks kind concern. His true kind concern . I feel him present now, see his smile....we were the same age. He was and will always be a true angel. Goodbye Chuck. Thank you.

Regrettably, I missed the obituary in the Democrat & Chronicle and was so saddened today to learn of Chuck's passing in the Irondequoit Post. Year after year he advised me regarding the flower boxes for my deck, etc. I will miss his gentle spirit and kind heart.
Take comfort in these words from Henry Thoreau:
“Even the death of Friends will inspire us as much as their lives. They will leave consolation to the mourners, as the rich leave money to defray the expenses of their funerals, and their memories will be incrusted over with sublime and pleasing thoughts, as monuments of other men are overgrown with moss; for our Friends have no place in the graveyard.
My sincere condolences.

I lost the first of my college family, a friend... no, a special friend, confidant. Quite a shock, leaving me with a heavy heart, and forever "Memories of days gone by". "Take the time to let some one know how you feel about them, if they are important in your life... don't leave things unsaid, life can end abruptly, those words, andb thoughts could make a difference...."Rest in Peace Chuck, may you be raised to the sky on the wings of angels."

I was so shocked to learn today of Chuck's passing. We were "Genrich friends" for over 30 years. I enjoyed our many chats when I visited the store. One of MY most precious memories is when Chuck was so kind and caring when I had cancer surgery 30 years ago. He "uplifted" my spirits greatly. He was one of the nicest, neatest persons I've known. My condolences to his family.
Always remembered. Bonnie Bayer.

We were so sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. Having lived in Irondequoit for over 30 years, we shared so many conversations with Chuck. He always remembered to ask about our daughters and wanted updated information. He never forgot what we had previously shared with him. One of my favorite memories is when my sister-in-law and I were shopping for a Christmas tree at Genrich's. Chuck would have us wait in the warm store while he braved the elements and brought the trees over to the window for us to inspect. What a kind and helpful man he was. And, as so many of us felt, to us Chuck was Genrich's. He will be missed by so many. My his happy memories bring your family comfort and peace at this sad time.

It is with a great deal of shock and sorrow to learn of Chuck's untimley death. Chuck was the most perfect salesperson and friend at Genrich's Center. He was always ready to help me to choose all the flowers and plants every Spring and through out the year. Beyond his job he was just a friend and always asked how things were going and showed a personal interest. We have all lost a truly magnificent human. I am so sorry.

To Chuck's Family~
Just another fan of Chuck's expressing my sympathy for the loss of your sibling/uncle and cousin. I knew Check because he knew my mother and he always asked about her even after she moved into a nursing home. He always had a great big smile and was a bright spot at Genrich's. Have a wonderful celebration in Clayton and the best to you all.
