You taught us how to love unconditionally yet to not accept the unacceptable. You taught us how to overcome hardship, pain and injustice and when we fell you taught us to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and move forward in a positive direction. This being our 1st Mother's Day without you it is a sad one but you also taught us to count our blessings and all of us who were touched by you in life were blessed for sure! My earliest memories of Lucy will stay with me forever, from the moment we first met, I knew I was loved and appreciated. She was a positive influence in my life and a wonderful example of unconditional love and acceptance. She gave all of herself always, and with a joyful heart. We were all made to feel special when walking into her home, as we were greeted with open arms and certainly with a meal. No one could out do her in that dept. either; she was the best cook ever! Eternity is in our future and we will re-unite one day.

Some people are Takers and some are Givers. My beautiful aunt Lucy was truly a Giver. She gave to her family and friends in every way imaginable. All you had to do was walk in her door and she was ready to cook you a meal, didn't even matter if you were hungry or not, she just wanted to give. She and my Mom were very close, and I have never known two woman like them. I miss them them both. I pray that God will comfort our hearts, especially Justo and her sons. We love you and miss you aunt Lucy...

As we continue to celebrate Lucyâ€™s life, we know she will be truly missed by Justo, her sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. All of the love Lucy Serrano created is still here. All the memories are still here. She will live on â€“ in the hearts of everyone she ever touched and nurtured while she was here.
