Obituary of Rita T. Knittel

Knittel, Rita T. Grass Irondequoit: Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at the age of 96. Pre-deceased by her husband, Matt; sons, James & John. She is survived by her daughters, Mary (Charles) Maloney, Lauren Thielmann, Christine (Marc) Mascaro, daughters-in-law, Sandra Knittel & Rita Knittel; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; sister, Margaret McNutt; special caretaker, Shelly DeVito; many nieces and nephews. Rita was a loving mother, nana and devoted caretaker. She also was a founding member of Christ the King Church. Her family will receive friends FRIDAY 4:00 - 8:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family SATURDAY 9:30am at St. Kateri at Christ the King Church for her funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be directed to Visiting Nurse Hospice. 2180 Empire Blvd., Webster, NY 14580.
