Obituary of Edith Bray Robinson

Robinson, Edith Bray Rochester: Passed away on August 3, 2013 at the age of 89. Edith is preceded in death by her parents, George Bray and Edna Kelly Bray, her sister, Eleanor Doyle, and her husband, Richard T. Robinson. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Beth Robinson-Vay, son-in-law Joseph Vay, daughter Patricia Robinson, son Joseph Robinson, daughter-in-law Susan Robinson, and her nine granddaughters. Edith was born on December 17, 1923, and grew up in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She enlisted in the WAVES during WWII, and attended Indiana University where she earned a Bachelor's degree in Business. In 1958, Edith met and married Richard after meeting him at a single's weekend she went to "just for laughs." They were married 50 years. Edith lived an adventurous life, and was a model of independence for her children and granddaughters. She lived and worked all over the country as a buyer for Macy's and later as an executive assistant and business manager. She especially enjoyed spending time with her many friends. The family of Edith Robinson wishes to thank the St. Ann's Community as well as the Leo Center for Caring. Her family will receive friends Sunday 5:00 - 8:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family Monday 11:00 am at St. Ann's Home Chapel for her funeral mass. Interment will be held in private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to St. Ann's Foundation, 1500 Portland Ave, Rochester, NY 14621.
