I have so many happy memories of growing up in the Hahn clan with so many aunts and uncles and cousins! Uncle Bob was special to me - he was my godfather - And I always felt special to him. I went to visit him when I was home the first week in September - he smiled and his eyes had never looked so sky blue - I told him that too.
I send my love and condolences to Aunt Shirley, Patty, Bob, John, David and your families. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Another story of Bob's unrelenting willingness to help others:
This was in 1988. My son Matt’s car, a GEE EM product, had been laid up for a couple of days. I went to his apartment after work to offer my help, only to find that I didn't know enough about the car to get the job done.
BOB HAHN lived just a few minutes away and I called him to ask some questions (Bob having worked on a lot of GEE EMs). Well, Bob dropped everything, came over and spent the better part of TWO hours taking the distributor out (no easy task since it has been in there for 140,000 miles), take it to his house, disassemble it, repair a broken wire, reassemble it, bring it back and install it in the dark, and get the car running.
Bob did a lot more for me in the coming years. He was truly a jack-of-all-trades who never said NO when asked to help.

Our sincerest condolences. I am unable to attend the service since I am recovering from surgery and not getting out yet. How sad to lose two brothers in such a short time.

Mom would go up to Hill Haven every day and hold Dad's hand. And every Sunday Dad would go home and balance Mom's checkbook. Defined roles right? Hey, don't fix it if its not broken. My responsibility was to give Dad a ride back and forth. One Sunday, probably a month and a half ago, David gave him his ride back. Dad had stayed home way too long, probably sensing the end was near. (Or maybe Mom's checkbook was really screwed up this time. Again!) Anyways, David calls me, Dad's really weak and the elevators are broken. I am greeted by Dad with "Whats John doing here?!" I inform him I'm there to carry him to his room. His reply, "No one carries me!" He disgustingly says there has to be another way to the 4th floor other than the elevators. I inform him that would be the stairs. He says "then I guess we take the stairs." Hollywood can't write this stuff. So we wheel him to the bottom step, help him out of the wheelchair, prop him up against the hand rail, and the journey begins. It took us awhile, but doesn't he make it all the way up! By now he's running on empty. We drop him into the wheelchair, run to his room, and connect all his tubes. As we are connecting the last tube an announcement is made. The elevators are back in service! I believe it was God giving Dad one last opportunity to be Big Bob Hahn. And of course he didn't disappoint. I never saw him out of bed again. But he gave me a memory that will last a lifetime. Thanks Dad. Love and miss you.

So sorry to hear of his passing. I will never forget the night a 2x4 on 490 kicked up and punched a hole in my radiator. I stopped at Dave's place on Henrietta street. Lisa was there but Dave was at work. I had to drive all the way home to Geneva and didn't know what to do. She called Bob and he said come on over. After looking at if for a few minutes he got out his torch, soldered the hole, topped off the radiator, and sent me on my way. I was going to limp home and get the radiator looked at later but the repair was so good I drove the car for a year after that without any additional repair. Of course he refused to take any money for his time. He really helped me out that night and was glad to do it. He was a great guy and I'm sure he will be missed by all who knew him.
