Obituary of Lorraine A. Sneeringer

Sneeringer, Lorraine A. Irondequoit. Saturday October 19, 2013 after a brief illness. Predeceased by her parents, John & Stella Kwiatkowski, brother John Kwiatkowski. She is survived by her most beloved husband Richard, children John (Deb) Sneeringer, Elaine (Kevin) Naughton, Sandra (Kurt) Sertl, Mary (Scott Rava) Conklin, grandchildren Jeffrey, Maura & Conor Naughton, Maxim & Gunnar Sertl, Bryce & Hannah Conklin, sister-in-law Margaret Kwiatkowski and many nieces, nephews, dear friends and neighbors. Lorraine was born on May 24, 1932 in Rochester, NY. She graduated from Mercy High School in 1949 and Georgetown University School of Nursing in 1952. She was a dedicated, skilled and compassionate nurse at Genesee Hospital for many years, where she established and supervised the IV team. Mom was a calm & steady presence in our lives. A devoted & loving partner to her husband of 58 years, she took great joy in supporting her children & grandchildren. She had extraordinary faith and touched everyone she met with her selflessness & willingness to serve. She loved reading, crossword puzzles, baseball and a cup of tea every morning. She was a little person with a giant heart who will be immeasurably missed. Her family will receive friends Wednesday October 23, 4:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy. South). Her life will be joyously celebrated at a funeral mass at St. Kateri at Christ the King Church, 11:00am Thursday, October 24th. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations in her name can be made to the Catholic Ministries Appeal, Diocese of Rochester. When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.
