Obituary of Margaret C. Brown

Brown, Margaret "Cardiff" Irondequoit. Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the age of 103. Mrs. Brown was born May 21, 1906 in Rochester, NY to her parents William and M. Susan "Payne" Cardiff. Widowed for over 50 years she is predeceased by her husband Harold W. Brown. Mrs. Brown is survived by her children, Elizabeth Squires of Reno, NV and Robert H. (Gerry) Brown of Media, PA., 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and her sister, Marion C. Barry. Mrs. Brown graduated from Rochester Normal School and taught in Irondequoit for 24 years at Ridgewood Elementary School and Whipple Lane School (now Ivan Green School) as a first grade teacher. She served as an officer of the AARP Chapter for several years, played the bells in a group at the Pinewood Senior Center and participated in the XYZ Club at St. John's Lutheran Church. No prior visitation. Funeral service and interment will be held in private.
