Obituary of Charles Kirk Mintz

Irondequoit: Died at the Sunset House in Rochester, NY on Saturday May 17, 2014 a Kirk Mintz at the age of 63. Kirk was born in Rochester, New York on January 9, 1951 to Charles and Marie (Kirk) Mintz. He was the eldest of four children.
He graduated in 1970 from Eastridge High School. Kirk was a Vietnam Veteran. He was drafted in the United States Army in 1971 where he served as a military policeman in Germany until his honorable discharge in 1973. During his tour he made several trips transporting prisoners from Germany to Vietnam. Upon his return to the States he attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh pursuing his passion for art.
Upon return from college, Kirk started his own art business out of his home. He created many home illustrations, caricatures, magazine covers, and taught art to young boys and girls and had a thriving career. He continued to draw up until the end. Kirk was very religious and attended mass every single day until he became ill. His family wrote "Kirk's gregarious and outgoing personality was contagious to all who came in contact with him. His generosity and kind heart were an inspiration to his family." He will be truly missed by his family and friends.
Kirk is survived by his siblings, Laura Mintz, Christine Mintz, Brian Mintz, and several nieces and nephews.
