Dear Kay,
I was deeply saddened by Marty's sudden passing. I had just been to Brockport the previous weekend to record with the Elderly Brothers. Over the last few weeks I have had a chance to relive some fond memories of Marty. We played basketball together on the school teams. We also had a lot of "party time" together over the years. He was much more sensible than I was. In fact, he once voiced his disbelief that I became a school Principal-hard to believe myself sometimes. Barbara recalled talking with you and Marty at the gig two years ago. She did not know anybody so she really enjoyed your kindness and conversation. Barbara is fighting cancer-it is a special honor for us to make a contribution to the Cancer Society in Marty's name. I hope you and the children are doing well. I know from personal experience it takes a long time to begin healing. You are in our prayers and I hope we get to see you at one of the future gigs at the lake. Sincere condolences,
Jack and Barbara

My deepest sympathy to all of you. I only knew Marty a short time but since he married Kay he had to be a wonderful and smart man. Christine, I hold a special place in my heart for you. You were such a help to me on the night of the Osage Street fire. Kay, you know how special your friendship has been over all these years. May God bless all of you with the strength you need at this time and always.
