Obituary of Donald N. Stahl

Stahl, Donald N. Pittsford: Tuesday, December 16, 2014. Predeceased by his parents Clement L. and Edna Stahl. Don is survived by his devoted wife Patricia D'Angelo Stahl, siblings, Clement (Gayle) Stahl, Murray (Joanne) Stahl, Jane (Nick) Nesci and George (Carol Ann) Stahl, brothers-in- law, Larry (Karen)D'Angelo and Mark (Lynn Chiapperini) D'Angelo, many nieces and nephews. Don was the Executive Director of the Rochester Automobile Dealers Association for 25 years and used his sense of business to grow the organization with creative innovation throughout his career. He was instrumental in the founding of Crime Stoppers of Rochester in 1976, a program that remains a very cost-effective operation funded by contributions from individuals and Associations, He served for 12 years in the Army Reserves and our local 98th Division reaching the rank of First-Sargent serving in many posts. Don was a competitive skeet shooter participating in competitions throughout the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. In 1959, he founded Sports Car Sales on South Clinton Ave and began selling MGs and Austin Healeys. He was a founding member of the "MG Car Club," which is today, one of the oldest sports car clubs in the United States. Travel was a constant for Don and Pat; they spent time in Europe, the Caribbean and Pompano Beach. When relaxing at home he could usually be found gardening playing with his beloved pets or tinkering with his British fleet. The family wishes to acknowledge the compassionate care provided by the staff of Rochester General Hospital, Doctor Daniel Taramasco and the Jewish Home.
