Colleen:
After talking with you last evening, for the first time,
I realize once again that I am
"Not Alone"
in my feeling the Loss of Rosemary, just 7 weeks ago.
But I must say, you are
"Not Alone Either"
As we both now travel on the same Highway, and hit the bumps,
we will continue to "never forget" but shall try to "move forward"
with the Life that God has Planned for our Future.
I am happy that "Kate" has put us in contact with one another, so that we may help one another thru our thoughts and prayers.
I am deeply sorry for your loss and will keep you in my nightly prayers.
Dick Hoey, Rome, New York

Mr. White was one of my favorite teachers. Today I work in Washington DC and I often think of his lessons from American History. My deepest sympathies to his family.

Though we are away and unable to attend, please know that your family is in our thoughts, hearts and prayers. What a gift Kirke was to this world! We are fortunate to have begun our careers and families at similar times and, though our paths didn't always cross over the years, wonderful memories run deep of our forays into adulthood, teaching and raising families. The years have carried us to this point where Kirke is now at peace.
Fondly,
Carol & Jim

Colleen and Kara and her family,
I was saddened to learn of Kirke's illness and death. Though his spirit will forever be with you, the absence of his physical presence will leave a large hole in your lives. I will always remember his great smile, his caring nature, and how he was your protector, Colleen. May God give you the strength and grace to deal with his loss. Be patient and gentle with yourselves as you make the journey through your grief.
Much love,
Cindy Richards

My cousin was one of the finest people I have had the privelage to know. Forget family connections. We grew up with grandparents born in Oswego (1880 and 1881). My grandfather, Kirke H. White, represented a true American dream. He did not finish High School, left at age 14. He ran a livery renting out horses. He also worked in a knitting factory in Oswego. He ended up in Broklyn and after the turn of the century (1900) patented a knitting machine from which he started his business. He relocated the factory to his home town (the Lastlong Underware Co), he belived in where he came from.
Kirke, my sister, Virginia and I always had this sense of community. Add my grandmother's artistic abilities and we all were given great "beginning gifts" as the Native Americans like to say. Kirke was in a direct line of my grandfather's's legacy of commitment, community and caring. Kirke has passed this on to his daughter and his grandchildren. Get ready for amazing things. He is not finished.
