Obituary of William J. Hickey

Hickey, Jr., William J. Pittsford: Thursday, May 7, 2015 at age 87. Longtime resident of Irondequoit, and more recently Pittsford. Predeceased by his wife Janice of 56 years, and granddaughter Samantha. He is survived by his four children, Will (Tracy) of Greenville, SC, Scott (Jeanne) of Kane, PA, Daniel (Alice), Joani (Wes) Moffett; seven grandchildren, Cameron, Shane, Tyler, Margot, Utah, Rex, and April. Also survived by loving brothers-in-law George McVey, Douglas Martin (Sis), and Stephen Martin (Marielle) and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. William served in the US Navy before attending and graduating from RPI. He was a retired President of Quinby & Co. He was a past treasurer of the Monroe County Water Authority. He was a past treasurer and member of the Rochester Yacht Club for over 40 years. He and Janice loved to travel by train and toured all over the world. The family would like to thank the staff at The Friendly Home and Lifetime Care Hospice for their loving care of Dad. No prior calling. A memorial mass will be held Saturday May 23 at noon at St. Louis Church in Pittsford. Interment at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lifetime Care Hospice, 3111 Winton Rd.
