Herring, William M.
Irondequoit: Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the age of 91. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Margaret (Lissow) Herring; son, Charles (Janet) Herring; daughters, Marjorie (John) Ellert & Carol Herring; grandchildren, Danielle (Anthony) Ianni, Elizabeth Herring & Kristin (Stephen) Sakowski; great grandchildren, Meredith & Quinton Ianni; sisters-in-law, Irene Lissow & Ruth Herring; many nieces & nephews.
Bill grew up in the 10th ward & attended Edison Tech. He was an Army Veteran who served his country in the South Pacific during WWII. He worked for Eastman Kodak as a tool and die maker & foreman. Bill was an avid golfer and longtime member of Durand Eastman Golf Club. He was active in leading the junior golf program & shot his age a few times in his late 80's.
His family will receive friends Friday 4-7pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family Saturday 11:00am at Irondequoit Presbyterian Church. (2881 Culver Road, Rochester, NY 14622) for his memorial service. Inurnment private Irondequoit Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Irondequoit Public Library, 1290 Titus Ave, Rochester, NY 14617.
