Pete was one of the adults at convalescent Hospital for children. I was one of those children. He had a profound effect on my life in the most positive way. Myself coming from a very dysfunctional family, Pete was my childhood hero. He turned me onto guitar, and he was always there when you were down to somehow manage to make you smile. Pete, I am sad that learn you are gone, but your memory lives on in my heart.

My Deepest Condolences goes out to Ann, Carla, Holly and Peter. During the 50's Our Family was Fortunate to live next to the Wonderful Provenzano Family. Peter became my first "Best Friend" spending almost every day together . I want to thank Peter for all the Wonderful and cherished childhood Memories he gave me, many of which I have continued to talk about through the years with my kids and grand kids. Peter was Adventurous, Funny, Charming and a Character even back then, His laugh was infectious and he loved to play Pranks, especially on me. Who can forget "The Magical Wonderland" of all the Trains and Villages that we played with in his basement. his legos, the game of counting the cars and sneaking into the abandoned mansion at the corner, building forts and catching FireFlies. I can still see you in your Uniform. Sadly we moved away and we only got to see each other a few times after that. Life went on...My only regret in life is that I never got to reconnect with this wonderful childhood friend before he passed. My Loss..."A Beautiful Face we remember for a few Days but a Beautiful Soul you Remember Forever". Love ya Pete

I got to know Pete when we both worked at Convalescent Hospital. It was a privilege to know someone with such a good heart. He was so funny and so talented ... we would go to hear him at the Ground Round whenever we could (and we were regulars). So many great memories. I am so, so sorry for your loss ...

Pete, you were one of the most generous, wonderful, deeply funny, loving and compassionate souls I've ever known. I treasured every minute spent in the luminous glow of your being. You found so much joy in life and gave as much joy to others as any person could. I will never forget your humor, your friendship, your amazing musical talents. No one ever wrote letters like you, Pete. I saved the ones you wrote to me - you wrote from the heart, and managed to reach across the miles as though you were in the room with me as I read your cursive handwriting. Thank you for counting me among your friends. Holly, you are in my heart, my thoughts, and my prayers. Peter - you and I met perhaps only once, and briefly. My heart goes out to you in your time of grief. Pete's family, friends and colleagues - thank you for supporting one another as we all cope with our loss. Peace, my golden friend. I miss you so. I love you. Go Wings.

Dear Family of Peter,
I only met Pete on one occasion, but it was lovely, wonderful, & left a lasting impression.
I attended an IPF support group meeting with my uncle about a year ago. Pete happened to sit next to me & so we had more opportunity to interact than we might have otherwise had. He talked about his music & entertaining.
I was very impressed by his jovial nature, his optimistic attitude, & warm nature.
I love music,too...especially piano, so I asked him to please play something for me. He sat down at the bench & appeared lost in thought for a moment. Then he said, "Being a Texas girl, I think you'll like this." Then he played a beautiful rendition of "Desperado." It brought tears to my eyes. I was so touched.3
It was such a kind and generous gesture. I was monumentally impressed.
I was very sad today when my uncle told me of Pete's passing. My sincere condolences to all of your family. Peter was a wonderful man with a unique and special ability to make a treasured connection with a stranger like me. I will always be grateful for his kindness & gift to me.
Sincerely,
Alicia Wintermute

Peter was a great guy, great musician and very funny comedian. We went to see him perform at Browns Race in 1985 on the first date with my wife Mary Myers. Then about two years ago I ran into him playing at St Johns meadows, so I introduced him to my dad who also enjoyed his music. On my birthday each year I would get a call from Peter and we would catch up. We will miss you Peter. The picture is from Dec, 1979 doing "Who's on First".
I played softball with him on the Convalescent Hospital team back in the 80's.
I have some old pictures of him if you contact me I can get them to you if interested. I have posted a couple on my Facebook page.

My deepest condolences to Holly and the rest of the family. Pete was the most interesting man I had the privilege to work with. Being at work with him made work an entertaining experience that not many others have been privileged to have. He was also a great friend and and father figure to a lot of us. If I didn't just undergo neurosurgery, nothing would have stopped me for missing his memorial service. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

My sincerest condolences on the passing of Peter. Although I knew him for only a short time when I was much younger, I liked him. He was very intense and very talented. I know that he brought much joy to many people and leaves behind a wonderful legacy...those who love and remember him.

Peter was a caring, creative person who assisted many chronically mentally ill people in our community until his retirement.
Peter loved performing, playing guitar, singing and telling jokes.
My favorite memories of Peter was of him performing for the residents of the Shire Adult Home, and how they loved him!
