Obituary of Theresa Ann Shaheen

Shaheen, Theresa Ann Irondequoit: Friday, May 6, 2016 at age 94. Pre-deceased by her husband Raymond C. Shaheen, her parents Vincent and Marianna Mentesano, her sister Angela, niece Lisa Shabata. Mrs. Shaheen is survived by her children, Sandra (Robert) Shaheen-Gilligan, Raymond (Kathleen) Shaheen, David (Beverly) Shaheen, Barbara (James) Kozlowski, Patricia Shaheen and Richard Shaheen and his fiancée Jayne Lammers, she cherished her grandchildren, Nora, Nicholas, Timothy Gilligan, Sarah & Clare Shaheen, Stephanie & Christopher Shaheen, Kathryn Kozlowski and Aryana Shaheen. She will also be missed by nieces Cindy Meredith, Marianne Mallaber, Bernadette Shaheen, nephews, John & William Shaheen. She was particular grateful for the friendship and caring of Sherry Wiederhold. Theresa was a graduate of Rochester Business Institute and was employed at Sibley's. After beginning her family she was an active community volunteer. She enjoyed travel, reading, bridge, was a senior member (52 years) of the Maywood Book Club and had a lifelong interest in Education. Theresa had a broad circle of friends and took pride in her independence. Her longevity could be attributed to character and adaptability to change. Her interest in current events, politics, and her community and church were steadfast, making her a joy to converse with. Her family will receive friends Tuesday 4:00 -8:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family Wednesday 10:00 am at St. Kateri at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4536 St. Paul Blvd. Rochester, NY for her funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
