Obituary of Orest Hrywnak

Hrywnak, Orest Rochester: Thursday, June 2, 2016 at age 59. Orest Hrywnak is predeceased by his father, Teodor (1994) and is survived by his mother, Tamara Hrywnak, brothers Dr. Severko (Renee) Hrywnak, Roman Hrywnak, nephew Michael, niece Adriana and an endless list of friends and loved ones. Orest was a icon in the radio industry in the 1970's and 80's and then went on as the president and co-owner of the Rochester RazorSharks, local pro basketball team. He brightened every room with his laugh and a joke or two and had a story about making friends with the elite famous singers and bands he met in his years of promoting in radio. Orest had a heart of gold and will be sadly missed by all the lives he touched. His family will receive friends Sunday 4:00 - 9:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Panachyda 8:30pm. Friends are invited to meet the family Monday 9:00am at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church for his Divine Liturgy. Interment Holy Sepulchere Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Blue Cross Arena at a time to be announced soon on the Rochester RazorSharks social media sites.
