Thank you for all the wonderful years I was able to spend with you and your family. I always felt so welcomed and loved in your home. Your laughter was contagious. Not many people would drop everything they were doing to have us over for a last minute cookout whenever we asked. I always hoped to see you again whether it be on the street or at the park. I am sorry I did not get to see you sooner. Rest in peace Wayne and thank you for the memories...

Wayne was a proud veteran, a good father, and a steadfast friend. Today those values are cherished, because they are rare. Farewell, old friend.

Dad, I am so sorry I missed you by 30 minutes I wanted to be by your side when God took you away. When I saw you lying in the bed looking so frail I wanted to save you but I couldn't do anything to help. I hope you can forgive me and know that I loved you and wanted to be there to comfort you. But I am also grateful I was able to see you a month previous and spend some quality time before the cancer really took hold. I'm so glad my son max will remember his grandpa and his fluffy beard fondly. He loved his grandpa Wayne. I knew you were sick but I couldn't bring myself to believe you would pass away.During your battle with cancer you were so positive and so brave you made me believe you might go on forever. I am so proud of your bravery and belief that you would beat the cancer. We got almost 2 more years together and beat the statistics because you refused to give up.I am so proud of you.I will miss our long talks on the phone and the advice I have taken to heart over the years.I will miss your visits to Florida spending time chatting on the porch and having fun with the family at the theme parks.Thank you for being proud of me and making me feel special.Thank you for all you've done for me. I will miss you more than you know and there is a piece of my heart that is forever broken.I love you and we will meet again someday. Love your son Ken

I wish nothing but the best for Wayne's family. He has been a steadfast friend over 50 years, and the strength he received from family kept him contented and excited in his later years. He did burn the candle bright, but he found comfort in his children, grandchildren, their wife's and especially Mary for her continued support over many years. Everyone rest and realize the blessing Wayne brought to all our lives.
