Currie, Charles
Irondequoit: Thursday, August 18, 2016 at age 89. A loving husband and father, Charles Currie grew up in Quincy, Massachusetts where he developed a lifelong love of sailing. He graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. One of the Greatest Generation, his life adventures took him from out of the Great Depression, to service in the US Army in WW II, graduation from MIT, marriage to his high school sweetheart Norma MacLeod, work in northern Newfoundland, settling in Rochester, and later traveling the world with Norma.
Predeceased by his parents Charles and Mary, his brother James, and his beloved Norma, Charlie is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Susan and William Price, his son and daughter-in-law John and Alison Currie, grandsons Ian Price and Charles (Cassie) Price, granddaughters Andrea and Maria Currie, sister-in-law Audrey Schneiderman, niece Anne Schneiderman, and nephew John Schneiderman.
Alzheimer's disease robbed Charlie of his final years. He found comfort in family, friends, and music.
