Obituary of Marie R Profetta

Profetta, Marie Alessi Irondequoit: Marie (Alessi) Profetta, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend passed away peacefully on October 5, 2016 surrounded by her family. Marie was born on September 23, 1927 in Rochester, NY to Philip and Concetta (Calabrese) Alessi. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Anthony (Tony), sisters Josephine (Arnold) Yackowicz and Ann (Christopher) Arena. She is survived by her devoted daughter Linda and son-in-law Dr. Timothy Huddle, cherished granddaughter Lindsey and fiance William Fuller, sister Fay and brother-in-law Robert Meagher, many nieces and nephews, dear friends, and not to be forgotten, Granddogs Bella and Lulu. Marie was a strong and humble woman. Her family meant the world to her, and she found great joy in nurturing them. She took immense pride in her home and loved spending time there. Family and friends will always remember it as a place overflowing with happiness and warmth. Her door was always open, and you were greeted with a warm smile, a cup of coffee, and a plate of Italian cookies. She will be greatly missed by all of those who love her. Marie's family would like to extend a very special thank you to the all of those who cared for Mom over the years including Dr. Robert Cole, the Staff on 4200 at Rochester General Hospital, and caregivers at Lifetime Healthcare for their exceptional compassion especially during her last few months. At Marie's request, there will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to meet the family Saturday 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church, 43 Gebhardt Road, Penfield, NY for her funeral mass.
