Obituary of Margaret B. Korper

Korper, Margaret B. Irondequoit: Thursday, October 27, 2016 at age 94. Daughter of Clarence and Grace Brobst. Predeceased by her sister, Rachel. Margaret is survived by her husband of 73 years, William A.; three daughters: Juliann (Larry) Strassner, Elaine (Steven) Osborne, Joan (Donald) Barnes. She also leaves behind three grandchildren: Rebecca (Andrew) Robinson, and Jack and Skye Barnes; sister, Hazel J. (Robert) Brown and also by her special friend Elizabeth Rush. Margaret loved to sing and happily shared her gift with her church choir and the Sweet Adelines as a member of the chorus and also a quartet. Her interest in history morphed into a genealogy hobby which took her on some fun trips searching for her roots. She was pleased to be a member of the DAR. A 25 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, she served one term as Worthy Matron of Starlight Chapter 507. Her family would like to thank the staff on Hastings 3rd Floor of St. John's Nursing Home for their care during her final years. Her family will receive friends FRIDAY, November 4, 2016 from 4:00 - 7:00pm and SATURDAY, November 5, 2016 from 12:00 - 1:00 pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy S.), where her funeral service will be held following the visitation at 1:00 PM.
