One of the nicest guys I've ever met. Smiles always comes to me when I remember him always referring to me as "Gulf", you who know; know what I mean. So Sorry for your loss, I know how it feels, when my Dad passed in his mind it was a blessing. Not a day goes by that I don't miss my parents. I guess that is the price for getting old. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Joe, and your family. To one of my "Shure" dear friends, until then, "later Damn it", Bingman

My dearest Uncle George, you were always the kindest, so high spirited and the life of every Family gathering. You are always in my heart and thoughts. My condolences to all the Family.

To Mamie & George -- my God parents. I will always cherish the great times we had over the years visiting Rochester and spending wonderful times with family. Mamie, bless you for your thoughtful calls on birthdays and Holidays. You have, in many ways, become my new mom -- because she would have done the same thing! To Joe, Christopher and Spiro (in spirit) -- you were blessed with a wonderful father who would do anything for you guys while providing a loving home for all those years.
To all of my extended Rochester cousins and relatives -- we offer our heartfelt prayers during this difficult time. While George's time on this earth has passed, he will live on through you and so many others he has touched over a lifetime of living, loving and giving. Right now, he's hugging my mom (Maggie), reunited with his mother, father and siblings and mixing-up a batch of those famous Whiskey Sours. Wish I could be at that party!
Take comfort in knowing that all who knew him understood and appreciated how much he meant to family and friends, and that this may bring solace to all of us now burdened by his absence. God bless us all -- especially George!

This world is a less bright place without George Peters in it. George had a heart as big as the room and loved his family and country with all his heart. I attended several Thanksgiving dinners, and he gave the most warm and touching prayers of gratitude for each of the family members, -how lucky we truly were to have each other. Usually not a dry eye was present at the conclusion of his Thanksgiving prayer. He made among the finest Whiskey Sours ever concocted. He also was one of the finest joke tellers and with Mary and Dan Pettee as straight-men, it really should have been recorded for posterity. Deep condolences to the rest of family. We wish we could be there.
In Spirit, with Love,
William Olsen

George, my brother-in-law, was the warmest person I've ever met. He was not only the warmest but his Bloody-Marys were beyond compare. I haven't seen much of him over the past eight years due to great distance, but will miss him greatly never-the-less.

I will always carry in my heart and mind the legacy of my uncle George's big-hearted-ness, humor, joyful and passionate singing, beautifully crafted stories, and the flash in his twinkling blue-grey eyes as he delivered a zinging one liner. He made my childhood a joy by always greeting me with a huge hug, mischievous smile and a pinch on the cheek. His deep love of family radiated from him-always. Peace.
Forever with love,
Mah-gee-moo

Mary,
I will miss our talks and your daily visits. While we knew the time was coming one is never ready for loss, especially a much-loved spouse, my thoughts and prayers are with you through this journey . I know you are surrounded by family and close friends who will help you get through these hard times. I just wanted you to know I was thinking of you and find it strange to not have George here to take care of, we miss you and George.

Dave will write his own condolence but I wanted to say that, if I had a nickel for every time Margaret said how much she loved George, I would be a very rich woman. This was her baby brother and she held him close to her heart even though he called her "Mag the Hag." I would imagine that the family, reconnected in heaven, are thrilled to see George though so sad for his family left on earth. I remember him as being such a warm individual and I can still hear him teasing about whose pita was better - his wife's for his mother's. It is was so comical and he really got a kick out of it. One more thing....I also remember how attentive he was to his elderly mother. It was beautiful to watch. Rest in peace, George. Dave says he made the best whiskey sours ever - my son got a kick out of that comment.
