Irondequoit: Quietly in his sleep on Sunday, May 14, 2017 at the age of 79. Predeceased by his wife Mary Ellen and son, Ralph III. He is survived by his sons, Gregory (April), Jonathan (Tonia), & Stephen (Jane); daughter-in-law, Deborah Genrich; grandchildren, Christopher, Heather, Alicia, Stephanie, Hunter, Joshua, Mary, Ashley & Jonathan James.

Ralph was born on October 21, 1937 and was the only son to Ralph Sr. & Margaret Genrich. He graduated from Charlotte High School in 1956 and Alfred Tech in 1960, where he was a Brother of Kappa Sigma Epsilon.

Ralph met his lifelong soulmate, Mary Ellen on a blind date. He founded Genrich's Garden Center in 1960 and operated it for 50 years until his son, Ralph III and daughter in law, Deborah carried on the family legacy. Ralph was a pillar of the Irondequoit community. He was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church & Irondequoit Rotary.

He was a Husband, father & Papa G to many children & friends who worked for him or friends of his children.

 

His family will receive friends Thursday 3:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy S.). Ralph's funeral service will be held Friday 10:00am at Harris Funeral Home. Interment White Haven Memorial Park.
