Yazwinski, Roberta (Bobbi)
Irondequoit: Thursday, June 1, 2017 at age 74. Peacefully at home after a courageous 16 year struggle with head and neck cancer and complications from related surgeries. Predeceased by her parents Edith and Harvey Kleisley; brother-in-law, Gordon Jewett and grandson, Noah Jacob Passero. Survived by her husband of 52 years, Andrew; daughters, Wendy (Daniel) Passero, Jean (Michael) Knapp; son, Daniel Yazwinski; grandchildren, Nicholas Passero, Kaylee and Corey Knapp, Kelly and Ava Yazwinski; sister, Kathryn Jewett; niece Heather (Thomas) Scoppa; nephew, Scott (Jennifer) Jewett; cousin, Karen (Dean) Peters; many friends and collegues. A 1960 graduate of Marshall High School. Bobbi received a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Alfred University in 1964 embarking on a 47 year career in Public Health Service, Home Care Coordinator, Care Management and achieving the title of Director of Utilization at Rochester General Hospital for several years. Bobbi commanded respect for her knowledge and rapport with patients, colleagues and medical staff. Bobbi cherished time with family and friends being there for everyone whether attending their events, medical advice, an ear for listening or just someone you felt comfortable being around. She was always there for everyone . Her grandchildren adored their "Grandma Bobbi"
Her family will receive friends FRIDAY 3:00 - 8:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy South). Friends are invited to meet the family SATURDAY 11:00 AM at TRINITY COMMUNION CHURCH (759 Winona Blvd.) for a memorial service celebrating her life. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in memory of Bobbi, to the Lions Eye Bank, 100 Corporate Woods, Suite 130, Rochester, NY 14623, to go towards increasing awareness of organ and tissue donation needs. It was Bobbi's wish to encourage you to consider enrolling as an organ donor, registering at www.nyhealth.gov/donatelife.
