Dear Gargantiel family,
Fred and I worked together at Convalescent Hospital for Children from 1962-1967.
I believe we both had similar degrees: MSW in Social Work. We were among a team of skilled
professionals hand-selected by Dr. Koret and Marjorie Horton to help these children,
who had a range of severe disabilities from autism, psychosis, to behavior disorders.
It was a daunting and frustrating task. However, Fred always seemed to take the job
in his stride. Fred was a gifted worker and helped hundreds of people during his life long career.
Over the ensuing years, we more or less loss contact with one another. And I was very sorry
to read in the obituary that his son Phil had passed away. My sincere condolences as well.
Fred's children and grandchildren should be very proud. I find It sad when a contemporary dies.
I am 81 years old and I wish we had stayed in touch. I share your sorrow and loneliness.
