I worked with Doug at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco valet parking from 1978 until Doug moved to New York in 1989. Am shocked and saddened to hear this news of his passing. However, I am sure he is entertaining those in the next world with his wry, and sarcastic humor, and I am sure the 3 Stooges will be glad to see him as well. He will also bring an incredible knowledge of photography. Working with Doug was always entertaining, sometimes there were days I really did not want to go to work but then I thought 'Oh Doug will be there, so it will be fun just to see what he will do or say next.' Working at valet parking with him was a joy. Nothing but a good time. And his passion for photography could be seen as well. I went to a number of his openings in San Francisco, and, while I am not a photographer, he taught me how to really 'see' the colors in black and white photography. I, to this day, still prefer black and white over color. Black and white seem to really get me going. Condolences to Barbara, Sean, and the rest of the Manchee clan. Cheers to you Doug, for a life well lived!
