Obituary of Russell B. McCormick

McCormick, Russell B. Irondequoit: Surrounded by his family on Friday, June 15, 2018, at the age of 66. Predeceased by his parents, Russell & Mary; sisters, Patricia & Kathleen. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Joanne; sons, Russ (Maureen), Matt (Lauren) and Andy (Bethany Weber) McCormick; grandchildren, Jadyn, Dylan, Ryan and Collins McCormick; siblings, Peggy, John (Debbie) McCormick, Jane (Scott) Ballard, Eileen (Mark) Oagley and Mike (Doreen) McCormick; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barb (John) Balzano, Dick (Cami) Gilman, Mary (David) Jennings, and Jack (Debbie) Gilman; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Russell, Big R' or Ho Ho as he is known by his grandchildren was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Russell loved his wife, Joanne very much, and always made sure she was taken care of. He was known for his pranks and sense of humor and had a passion for the outdoors, especially the Adirondacks where he went camping and fishing with his family. Russell was a diehard New York Yankees fan. He loved having his family over for cook outs and was always the grill master. His family will receive friends Tuesday 4-7pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy S.) Friends are invited to meet the family Wednesday 10:00am at Holy Cross Church for his funeral mass.
