Mary Lou was a wonderful and caring person and certainly a force to be reckoned with. She was devoted to her family and to her friends, many of whom she had for over 60 years!
She and her classmates from the Class of 1945 were instrumental in raising the funds needed to restore the murals at Charlotte High School.
As archivist for the school, I can say that her contribution to the school will not soon be forgotten. She watched as the murals were restored and they helped Bob with his presentation at the school during River Romance weekend each year in October.
But I also remember our personal friendship and the wonderful life she shared with Bob. They often came to our history programs at the library and the lighthouse and she remained involved with Charlotte right up until they moved from their Ripplewood house.
She will be missed dearly!

As one of 6 Neufeglise children we all knew Aunt Lou well when we were young through my Smith grandparents. I had not seen her in several decades. At her son Ricky's visitation a few years ago, I finally got to tell her how at 9 or 10 yrs old she was an inspiration to me that I never forgot: I knew she was a PE teacher working on something called a "master's degree" at night, had a cute tiny car and I so admired her independence. As an adult I did become a teacher (art), I pursued a Masters and other degrees and always remembered her for the seeds she planted in me. I also got to meet and talk to her beloved Bob, a lovely and interesting man. At 91, with tragedies experienced, her passing is sad but I believe she also had a well-lived life. She is very special to me. Rest in peace in God's hands, Aunt Lou.

My sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Mary. The loss of our loved one can be very difficult and distressing to cope with. It is comforting to know that our loved one is safe in God's memory. May you find comfort in knowing that our Heavenly Father, Jehovah promises to eliminate death, pain, and suffering in the near future.(Revelation 21:4) He also promises to bring back our loved ones we have lost in death.(John 5:28,29) May you find comfort and peace in these promises.
