Kieffer, George Arthur Rochester: Died peacefully at his home in Grande Ville Senior Living Community, Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the age of 98. George called it home for the past three years and was cared for by many loving competent staff who were diligent in their care of him. His daughters will be forever grateful to the staff at Grande Ville as well as the doctors and staff at Seneca Ridge Dialysis. George was born on July 27, 1920 to Emma and Henry Kieffer of Rochester, New York and was the eldest son in a family of five children. He served in World War II in the 30th Infantry as an Army Medic and was a proud survivor of the Battle of the Bulge, in which he won a commendation for his setting up a field hospital to care for the wounded. He was employed by Eastman Kodak for forty years following his discharge from the Army. He married Helen Haehle Kieffer in 1950, who predeceased him in 1989. He is predeceased by brother, Robert (Frances) Kieffer, sisters, Deloris (Carl) Bunde and Lorraine (Joseph) Brandt. He is survived by his twin daughters, Connie Kieffer Duff of Hilton, NY and Bonnie Kieffer of Wappingers Falls, NY. He is also survived by his brother, Clayton (Veronica) Kieffer of Melbourne, FL and his children, Michael Kieffer, Irene Kieffer, Corrine Stergious, Arthur Kieffer and Tommy Kieffer. Other surviving nieces and nephews include Katie (Joseph) Dorschel, Helen Bademone, Rick (Cindy) Bunde, Cheryl Brandt and Doug Todd, Gary (Jane Sutter) Brandt, Ted (Debbie) Kieffer, Nancy (Nic) Visser and many grandnieces and nephews. In 1994 he met Virginia Brash Ugine and they lived happily as a couple until her death in 2015. He is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dan Ugine and Karen Ugine. George was often heard to say that he felt blessed to love two wonderful women and share his life with them. There are no calling hours and the interment is at the discretion of the daughters. There will be a celebration of George's life at a future time to be announced. Memorial donations may be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church, Dewey Avenue, Rochester, NY.
