Sandra Jarema

Irondequoit: Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the age of 91. Pre-deceased by her loving husband of 69 years, Dmytro. She is survived by her son, Ihor (Laurie) Jarema; daughter, Irene (Bill Buchanan) Jarema; grandson, Alex (Ann) Jarema; great grandchildren, Luca, Evka & Nicholas Jarema; sister, Helen Temechko; niece, Maria (Jonathan) Braun; great nephew, David Braun; great niece, Jenny Braun. She will also be missed especially by her companion dog, Kiwi.

Sandra was born in Ukraine in 1927, she along with her sister, Helen Temechko made their way through the war torn country and spent the war time working as forced farm laborers in Germany. Following the war both sisters shared a wedding date in Germany in 1947. Sandra and her husband, Dmytro immigrated to the United States in 1949. They moved to Rochester, NY in 1962 where she was a devoted parishioner of ST. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church. Sandra was a kind and gentle soul who loved her family immensely and will be greatly missed.

Her family will receive friends Monday 5-7pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Hwy S.) Panachyda 6:30pm. Friends are invited to meet the family Tuesday 10:00am at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church for her Divine Liturgy. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Hildebrandt Hospice Center, 3111 Winton Road South, Rochester, NY 14623 or St. Josaphats Ukrainian Catholic Church, 940 East Ridge Road, Rochester, NY 14621.
