Teresa Elizabeth VonBuren

Irondequoit: Friday, January 11, 2019 at the age of 55. Predeceased by her parents, Martin & Patricia Godwin. Teresa is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 27 years, Jeffrey F. VonBuren; brother, Gerrard Godwin; sisters, Claire (Tadeusz) Urbanowicz, Tara (Joseph) Inga; sisters and brothers-in-law, Laura (Dean) Marcellus, Pam (David) Pedulla, Jon (Cheryl), Jamie (Vinh), and Christopher VonBuren; nieces and nephews, Emily Holbig (Greg), Michael Urbanowicz, Martina Inga, Joey Inga, Ian Godwin, Andy Ward (deceased), Katie Ward (deceased), John Ward, Jon VonBuren II, Jenelle Von Buren, Lindsay Chin (John), Jacqueline Pedulla; great niece Katie Ward; great nephews Joshua Ward & Joseph Chin; her rescue cats, Rory & Sookie.

During the summer months, Teresa lived in her garden.  She would be working outside until the sun went down. She shared many of her plants and seeds with friends and family, or even a neighbor walking down the street.  She enjoyed sitting by the campfire with Jeff, drinking a glass of wine, while star gazing and watching for the space station to fly by.  She’d get up a 4am to watch a meteor show.

She was very artistic and enjoyed decorating and redecorating her home.  Christmas gifts always included hand-made decorations. 

Teresa loved to buy greeting cards.  She would buy a card six months ahead of time because it was the perfect card for someone.

She loved sewing, reading, watching British programs on PBS, binge watching the Gilmore Girls.  She also loved her rescue cats, Sookie and Rory.  Every year, Jeff and Teresa would watch the Muppet Christmas Carol, It’s a Wonderful Life, The Sound of Music, The Vienna Philharmonic New Year’s Concert, and The Wizard of Oz. 

Teresa was compassionate and caring.  No matter what she was going through, she always thought of others and had words of encouragement.  She touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and cats.  She will be deeply missed.

Her family will receive friends Saturday, January 19, 11:00am - 2:00pm at the funeral home, where her memorial service will follow at 2:00pm.
