I will miss the garden tours of his yard looking at something new and exciting that was happening in the plant department. Bruce was bigger than life. Gone are the new times to make memories, but the simple everyday pleasures, the moments we had with Bruce, become the times that will come to mind and we will cherish them and feel a glow of gratitude for our special friend who always made us feel special. Thank you, Bruce, for giggles and the fun and the good times we had with you and Barbara.

Nine words - words which have different meanings to different people - here they are, I will try to connect them as they relate to Bruce.
pool lake house boat fishing egg sandwiches salmon scotch truck family
POOL
Ontario Country Club pool - We lived 1/4 mile from the pool and joined it back in the mid-'70s. One day Arleen came back from the POOL with our then six or seven-year-old kids and told me of this very nice couple she had met at the pool. I went with her and the kids the next week and there I met Bruce and Barbara and their five kids. Need I say more, that was the beginning of a 43-year friendship that felt more like our extended family.
Lake house -
One day 5 years ago, Bruce stopped by at our house in Webster as he has done so many times and told us about a house on the lake near their cottage that was going to be put up for sale and had not been listed. Arleen will always remember him saying "You REALLY should take a look at it. It is a well built house and has a fantastic lake view. Well, we did and the rest is history. We bought it and are now living in our LAKE HOUSE . . . . . thanks to Bruce
BOAT
Bruce's prize possession, his 24-foot BOAT. Some might call it a cruiser or a pleasure boat but on so many occasions it was a fishing boat! Bruce had rigged a removable system on the stern so we could mount downriggers without drilling holes in the boat which would have been a no-no!! We spent many an early morning chasing the elusive SALMON on the lake for hours on end trolling and eating EGG SANDWICHES which I would prepare in the wee hours of the morning. We'd be on the water at 7. We would troll for hours munching our egg sandwiches and coffee with not even a strike, then around noon, we would pick up two or three nice sized salmon One day I suggested to Bruce that we don't need to be on the water at 7 o'clock! We always catch fish much later in the day! From then on I got to sleep in and we started at ten and had the same luck, picking up a double or more around noon! Of course, a day of fishing would not be complete without an ounce or two of a fine single malt SCOTCH, a great way to end a day of fishing. Whether or not we caught anything we did share a day telling stories and enjoying a day on the water.
PICK-UP TRUCK - another one of his prized possessions, a gift from his wonderful family. I know how proud he was of that huge white TRUCK which he drove with a smile on his face. I wasn't there when the family presented him with the truck but I imagine he couldn't have been more surprised If the guy from Publisher's Clearing House had presented him with a check for a million dollars. He loved that truck!
FAMILY -this is the most important word of the nine - Bruce is my brother from another mother. He is FAMILY and will always be family to us. He will be dearly missed.

Barb, We were so sorry to hear that Bruce passed so unexpectedly. Peggy and I are saddened that we are unable to be there for you at his services. It has been too long since we enjoyed Bruce’s laugh and great company. For me, in the 6 years we spent so much time together, he was a friend, a mentor, and just one of the Good Ones. I still think about him, and all of the folks we spent time with at Sweeteners Plus, and the Lake Ontario area. He spoke a few times in recent years, but not enough. Be well, Barb. We will keep both of you in our thoughts and prayers.
Jeff & Peggy Cotter.

My memories of Mr. Lowenguth are of he and Barbara being two of my parents best friends. We grew up with their kids. My parents were thrilled to be part of his 80th birthday celebration, and devastated to hear of his death just a few days later. RIP, Mr. Lowenguth.❤️

Dear Lowenguth Family, our deepest condolences. Bruce was a very special man, a great father a very proud father a wonderful husband...a truly great gentelman. His kindenss and soft spoken ways touched so many hearts. He was a great conversationalist and had many jokes to tell. He had a way of seeking one out at so many of the wonderful events we attended with him. It was a privilege and an honor to have known him. He was a class act. He will be sadly missed with a heavy heart taken way to soon. May his legacy live on through all of his children and grandchildren...may he stay close to your hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Dear Barbara and Family,
My deepest condolences to hear this sad news As a teacher to your children at Wayne Middle SchooI, I recall, your boys and Julie, of course; meeting both you and Bruce at Open House. You always made those meetings a priority.
Even though your children left Wayne, our paths would cross exchanging happy news of HS, college, weddings and grandchildren.
Several years ago I rented your cottage to enjoy my last summer in NY as I moved permanently to GA after my husband died.
I know how hard this will be for all of you.
Cherish those memories and know his love and spirit will always be inside all of you. There will be special moments that you will know he is watching over you ....
Much love,
Stephanie Cooper- Kunce

Lisa and I have had the pleasure for the last few years of being neighbors of the Lowenguth’s. I recall my 1st meeting with Bruce shortly after Roxanne and Mark had finished building their home. Bruce was walking the waterfront and started to tell me about the history of the property. He was obviously a very proud man and he was also fiercely proud of his family. We had the opportunity to visit with Bruce and his wife at parties at Roxanne’s and Mark’s home. He was a quiet character. Always had a funny comment. The last time I saw Bruce was on January 8, 2019. A large dump truck had flipped over at the entrance to Oklahoma Beach. Bruce was there, surveying the situation. We had a brief funny conversation about the situation and Bruce was off to further assess the situation. I have a picture of him at the scene doing his assessment and will try to attach it.
RIP Bruce, we will miss your company

To Barb and Children. Tom and I are so sorry to read of Bruce’s death. We would say it in person but we spend 4 months in Ft Myers during the winter. We remember the great times we had with our Ontario on the Lake neighbors especially the times that Tom would join the troop of Fathers walking the neighborhood for Halloween. Our thought and prayers are with you. Love from Tom, Margaret, Monica, Millicent and Tom, Jr.

Dear God help this loving family with your love and strength to heal from the loss of a kind loving man. He was kind, caring man, devoted to his wife and family. We looked forward to watching Bruce enjoy his beautiful yard on the lake, always willing to give others a smile, hello and a helping hand.. Barb and Bruce were inseparable, always devoted to each other. You could see their love without knowing them.
We ask you God to hold this family close and heal their sorrow.
Please know that we will miss your dad very much. Our hearts and love go out to all of you.
Heartfelt sadness, much love.
Marlene and Frank
