Rochester: Josephine Ann (Joanne) Hawkes-Orman passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the age of 93. She was born on May 1, 1925 in Avon, New York. Joanne is preceded in death by her husband, Douglas Hawkes, her parents, Josephine and Paul Emmi, her siblings, Anthony, James, Belle, Jenny and Pat.

Surviving Joanne are her husband, Frank Orman, her children and their spouses, Robert and Helen Hawkes, James and Jennifer Hawkes, Dawn and Gene Chmiel. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Matthew Hawkes, Brian Chmiel and Nicole Witzcak, Andrew and Amanda Chmiel, and her great grandson, Dylan Chmiel. She is also survived by her step-children, Phyllis and Donald Vetter, Thomas and Xuan Orman, David Orman, Mark Orman; sister, Mary Pallone, many nieces and nephews, friends and neighbors, and also her choir friends from St. Stanislaus Church.

Joanne's family wishes to express our gratitude to the wonderful staff at Fairport Baptist Home who cared for her so kindly and with so much love and who treated her as their own mom. From all of "Josie's" family - we thank you for all you did.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday, February 20, 5-7pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). Friends are invited to meet the family Thursday, February 21, 2019, 10:00 am at St. Stanislaus Church for her funeral mass. Interment Private.
