Jane S. Fisher

Rochester: Surrounded by her family on Tuesday, August 20, 2019 at the age of 69. Predeceased by her parents Richard and Aileen Starrett she is survived by her loving son, Jeremy (Keegan) Fisher; daughter, Megan (Dale) VanSickle; grandchildren, Fiona Fisher, Claire & Drew VanSickle; brother, Peter (Cam) Starrett; nephew, Grant Starrett.

Jane was a 1967 graduate of Pittsford Sutherland and went onto to Virginia Intermont College earning an associates degree in Home economics in 1969. She then followed her brother Peter to Colorado State University and completed her bachelors of science in 1971. She returned to upstate NY and did some graduate work at Cornell University. She was a teacher in the Honeoye School District for 10 years and will be remembered for her sewing and cooking expertise. It was a blessing that Jane was able to see both of her children grow up into successful adults, watch them get married, and to meet her 3 grandchildren. Her final days were spent with her granddaughter Fiona Fisher eating ice cream and drinking Diet Coke.

Her family will receive friends Friday, August 30th, 4-7pm at the Harris Family Center (located behind funeral home at 560 Kings Highway So.). They would like to thank the staff at Wesley Gardens and all the nurses and aides that took very special care of Jane through the years. Memorials may be directed to Benincasa, where they provided loving care for Jane (3880 Rush-Mendon Road, Mendon, NY 14506).
