Albert P. Valerio Irondequoit: Thursday, December 26, 2019 at the age of 96. Pre-deceased by his wife, Roisin; parents, Antonio & Victoria; sisters, Jessica, Helen, Mable, and Ann. He is survived by his son, Raymond (Robert Straton) Valerio; granddaughters, Beth (Jason) Algar, Jessica (Keith) Joseph, and Brigid Valerio; great grandchildren, Emma, Everly, and Samuel; mother of his grandchildren, Judy Valerio; many nieces and nephews. Members of the West Family in Livonia. After graduating from Livonia Central, Al was drafted and headed to England to fight in WWII. He trained in Ireland before going to Europe with the 4th Division, and landed on Omaha Beach on D Day. Al's division then joined Gen. Patton's 3rd Army Division until the war ended. Al returned to Rochester to become a restaurateur owning Joe's Chop House on Court St. He joined Kodak and retired after 37 years and then went on to work at Chase Lincoln Bank. Finally retiring, Al took up the title of "Mayor of Birchwood Dr." Al enjoyed being with his family, caring for his home and yard. His hobbies were the stock market and finances. Al was always there to help with family and friends. We will all miss his smile and laughter. The family wishes to thank the staff at Heathwood Assit. Living for the care and love they showed him, and the members of the palliative care unit at Strong Hospital 4-1200 for their kind support. Albert's Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, December 31st, 11:00 am at St. Kateri at Christ the King Church. Interment Irondequoit Cemetery.
