Obituary of Chester Harkola

CHESTER S. HARKOLA Passed away peacefully on December 13, at the age of 96, in the presence of his loving wife of 70 years, Helen (“Ski”). Caring father of 4 children, Jana White, John, Steve (Jody), Bill (Julia), 9 grandchildren, 9 great grand grandchildren. Served his country in WWII in the 4th Marine Division. He was a talented and creative artist that after retirement, gave his time to volunteerism at Helmer Nature Center and Rochester General Hospital. Golfing and woodworking (making sawdust) were his avocations. Chester requested his body be donated to the Anatomical Gift Program at SMH. Service will be held at a later date. In his memory, donations could be made to West Irondequoit CSD’s Helmer Nature Center.
