Thompson, Dorothy "Dot" Irondequoit: Born August 31, 1920 died peacefully on Friday, January 17, 2020 at the age of 99. Predeceased by her parents Delbert and Grace Gleason, her husband William Robert Thompson, and wonderful brothers James, Donald, and George Gleason. Dorothy is survived by her children Patricia Walker, Robert (Sally) Thompson, Elizabeth Thompson, Anne (Darryl Sharp) Thompson, and William (Sally) Thompson; grandchildren Susan (Sam) Walker-Matthews, Ron (Maria) Walker, Didi (Ron) Roberts, Patrick Walker, Jay (Keri) Thompson, Scott Thompson, Brett (Lisa) Thompson, Robert (Danielle) Thompson, and Chelsea Thompson along with 20+ great grandchildren; sister-in-law Evelyn Gleason; and beloved nieces and nephews. A previous resident of Parkside Crescent & Winona Blvd and St. Anne's Nursing Home. She lived a long and prosperous life and was an original Rosie the Riveter as well as a member of the Legions of Mary. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the staff and caregivers at St. Ann's Home and the hospice nurses and aides of Lifetime Care Hospice for their wonderful care and support. Her family will receive friends Friday, January 31st, 4:00 - 7:00pm at the funeral home (570 Kings Highway So.). Friends are invited to meet the family Saturday, February 1st, 10:00 am at St. Ann's Home Chapel for her funeral mass. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to St. Ann's Foundation, 1500 Portland Ave. or the charity of your choice.
