Kateryna Greene "Kathy"
Fairport: Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the age of 69. Predeceased by her parents, Iwan & Maria Sochan. She is survived by her loving husband of 31 years, Dexter; sister, Halyna (Brian) Gridley; niece, Sonya (Keith) Peterfreund; nephew, Jason (Megan) Gridley; niece, Tatiana (Rob) Wallner; great nephews, Jett, Gage, Trey, Myles, Tyler, Chase; sister-in-law, Amelia (Tom) Scott; brother-in-law, Larry (Jane) Greene.
Kathy will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving sister and a compassionate Aunt. She will mostly be remembered for her warmth, kindness and generosity.
Her passions were dancing, cooking, baking, gardening and shopping for others.
She enjoyed being a wife, spending time with her family, traveling and volunteering in the kitchen at church. Kathy and Dexter especially enjoyed motorcycling and camping across the United States and Canada.
Kathy was born in 1950 in Traunstein Bavaria and immigrated to New York City in 1952. At age of 5, Kathy developed the love for dancing and performed all over the city at churches and other venues. She studied ballet at The Eastman School and enjoyed performing for 15 years as a ballerina. She had a 19 year career at Bausch and Lomb supporting international expansion. Then she supported Dexter's career as his domestic goddess. She became a Great Aunt to 6 great nephews and loved spending as much time as she could with them.
Kathy's Divine Liturgy will be held Monday, July 13th, 10:00am at St. Mary's Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Face masks are required. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Wilmot Cancer Institute, 300 East River Road, P.O. Box 278996, Rochester, NY 14627.
