David A. Ruppert Brighton: David Andrew Ruppert, 31, passed away unexpectedly from cardiac arrest on Saturday, July 11, 2020. Dave was born in Syracuse to Bruce and Nina Ruppert on August 15th, 1988, the second of two children. An avid sportsman, he always had a bat or ball in hand and his childhood was filled with travel soccer matches and baseball games. Dave graduated from Fayetteville Manlius High School in 2006 and from SUNY Brockport College in 2010 with a degree in Marketing. Dave was passionate about his sales position at First Light. His bosses described him as exceptional in his job and a mentor to his peers. His ability to connect with everyone endeared him to customers and coworkers alike. Dave met Renee Vinci in 2014 and they married in 2017. Their eldest, Mason, was born in 2018, and twins Riley and Chloe were born on April 4, 2020. He loved being a father, singing songs at bath time, dancing to Mason's favorite songs, and trying to elicit a smile at all costs. Renee and Dave's love for their children and partnership in parenting were evident to all who knew him. He also adored his dog, Wally, and was never happier than going for a run or playing fetch with him. Dave's singular talent was making everyone feel welcome and loved; he brightened up every room he walked into. The 'mayor' of Rochester, he was always quick with a laugh and a joke, and frequently made up games to strengthen bonds between everyone. Dave's first instinct was happiness. He was a constant drumbeat of wit and heartfulness. He was infectiously positive and always was convinced his best days were ahead of him. Dave was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, and he often hosted large barbeques at his home in Brighton. Sports were a big part of his life, whether as a participant or a spectator. He played football and baseball in high school and rugby in college. He was a lifelong Yankees, Syracuse Orange, and Buffalo Bills fan and had already started indoctrinating his young son to follow in his footsteps. He was also an avid golfer. Dave is survived by his loving wife Renee; adoring children, Mason, Riley, and Chloe; parents, Bruce and Nina Ruppert; sister, Kate Ruppert; mother-in-law, Pamela Vinci; brother-in-law, Eric Vinci; beloved dog, Wally; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends who loved him. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no public service; a memorial may be held at a later date. Donations in David's memory may be made to the Mason, Riley and Chloe Ruppert Scholarship Fund - C/O Renee Ruppert, 570 Kings Hwy S., Rochester, NY 14617.
