I’m so sorry to learn about Josephine’s passing. I knew her from many years coming in to ESL’s Culver Ridge branch. She was always so cheerful, kind and friendly. It was always a great day when I got to visit with her! Peggy Teal

The family of Josephine wanted to extend our thanks to her caregiver Debbie Palmer. She was by Josie’s side for over 1.5 years. She was faithful, dependable and cared for Josie as if it were her own mother. They developed a bond over those years.
Thank you Debbie! Words can not express our gratitude for all that you did for our Mom. I am sure the Lord will bless you for your faithfulness.

Josephine (Josie) Schum (Pizzo) was born and raised in Rochester. After graduating from Benjamin Franklin High School she became a secretary at Eastman Kodak. She met Raymond Schum, a landscaper and nurseryman and they married in 1952. After her marriage, she quit her job and devoted her life to being a loving, faithful wife and mother in East Irondequoit. She was a selfless, Big-Hearted Person who always reached out to help family and friends. Josie was active in church and took opportunities to shared the love of God with all whom she came in contact with. When her children were older, she became a part-time secretary at Equifax. Upon retirement, Josie and Ray spent part of their time taking care of two of their grandchildren. After her husband's death in 2003 she continued to support, pray for and show love to all her family and friends right up until the end of her life.
