Leon H. Penazek Rochester, New York

Passed away on November 25, 2020, at the age of 88, in the loving presence of his family. Predeceased by his brothers Wally Penazek and Bernie Pensek, sister Virginia Schirmer. Survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Lorraine; children, Laura (David) Penazek-Whitney, Leon (Carla) and Larry (Lynda); grandchildren Hunter and Remington Whitney; sisters Dolores Hawryliak and Arlene Harris, brothers Ronnie Pieniaszek and Richie (Gail) Pieniaszek, sisters-in-law Rita Penazek and Gloria Pensek and many nieces and nephews.

Leon was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was past Commander of the Melvin Michalski Post 1328, past Commander of Monroe County American Legion and a member of 40 and 8 and the Polish American Club. He was a long time State Farm Agent in Webster and embraced its motto "Where life is worth living". A founding member of Holy Spirit Church, where he was an usher and a member of the choir. Leon enjoyed golfing and playing Pinochle with his family and friends.

His sons cherish their memories of him coaching them in Penfield Little League. He was proud of his Polish heritage and loved listening to Polka music. Special thanks to his daughter Laura for providing quality care during the past three years, along with the wonderful caregivers Lisa, Joann, Cassie, Bethany, Christina, Stephanie and Denise.
