Ellen was a second mother to me and my five siblings. I am Laurie Ditzel's sister. We were not an easy brood. She probably helped keep my mother sane. Ellen and Wesley lived down Averill Ave. from us. Ellen was kind and good hearted to the whole neighborhood. She loved us and we loved her. The world has lost a very special woman. You have my deepest sympathy.

Ellen worked for my parents all the years I was growing up. She was a second mother to us. I took a fresh $5 bill out of my mother's purse and smashed it in the back yard to make it look dirty and buried. I told Ellen how I found the money in the dirt in the backyard. She slowly broke me down and I confessed. She told me to put the money back and she wouldn't tell my mother. Haven't stolen anything since! She made the world a better place! My condolences. Ellen was part of the Bradley family. Don’t know what my mom would have done without her. So kind and even tempered. I was the baby of the family and probably the most difficult. Glad she was still with us when we moved to Barrington st. She rescued our dog Poker from heat stroke after carrying her up to the kitchen, cooling her off and giving her water. She was part of our family and we were blessed to have her. Petie (aka Patrice) Bradley
