Obituary of Nancy C. Rubacha
Nancy C. Rubacha
Long time resident of Irondequoit. Passed away unexpectedly at her home in Chapel Oaks on December 22, 2020 at age 94. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Chester M. Rubacha, daughter, Jane (Dave) Yaworski and parents, Henry and Nora Clements.
Raised on a farm in Avon, New York with six sisters and two brothers, she moved to Rochester in 1944. There she attended R.B.I. and worked at the Rochester Project. She subsequently raised a family and started a second career at Rochester General Hospital, retiring after 30 years of service. Nancy had a large circle of lifelong friends. Nancy and Chet loved to travel with them visiting numerous spots in Europe and North America. Always close to her family, she enjoyed large family gatherings and time with her siblings, their spouses and many children. Most recently she found a wonderful home at Chapel Oaks where she shared her positive attitude and enthusiasm with a new circle of friends. Theater, current events, exercise, Morgan & McKenzie, a glass of wine with friends kept her vital and engaged. Refusing to be slowed by COVID, she discovered FaceTime and used it to stay connected with sisters, friends, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Nancy is survived by her sister Helen (Van) Hulburt, son Paul (Bambi) Rubacha, four grand children Leah (Chris) Thomas, Erin (Greg) Tellex, Chris (Laurel) Rubacha and Elizabeth Rubacha, and four great-grandchildren.
Due to COVID restrictions, all services will be immediate family only. A celebration of her life will be held this summer.
