I am very sorry to learn of Lou's death. I was a customer of his for almost 40 years, and I considered him not only a great barber but a wonderful friend. I know that the last few years were not easy for him, but you, his family, were by his side, especially when he needed to be driven to and from the barber shop. You were wonderful to him, and he surely could not have continued on at the shop without you.
I had an appointment for a haircut on the day of his 90th birthday celebration, and it was great to see his family, the media, (and the barbershop quartet!) there to celebrate his special day.
He was kind to me also; when he found out that my younger daughter was getting married, and I had come in for a haircut, he gave me the "father of the bride" haircut and would not let me pay! Your dad was quite a guy, and I will miss him, as I know that you will.
