Fairport: Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side Friday, January 29, 2021 at the age of 86. Survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Carolyn (Connie) Tatarka Matla; children, Michael (Julie), Shawn (Lori), Natalie Matla Ewing; 6 grandchildren, Jonathan Matla, Peter Matla, Lauren Matla, Connor Ewing, Ashley Matla and Taylor Matla.

Ron was an Army Veteran of the Korean War having served from 1954-1956. He retired from Kodak after 25 years of service. He was a member of St. John of Rochester Church and of its Men's Club; an avid sportsman; a Lifetime member of the Oakfield Rod & Gun Club; a former member of the Brockport Conservation Club and a former Boy Scout Troop Leader of Troop 165 in Spencerport. The family wishes to thank the U of R Home Care Hospice for their services and support.

Ronald's funeral mass will be held Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM at St. John of Rochester Church, 8 Wickford Way, Fairport, NY 14450.

In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be directed to U of R Home Care Hospice in Ron's name or to Galisano Children's Hospital.
