Joyce A. Donnelly (Lockington)

West Irondequoit: Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the age of 85. Predeceased by her husband, John E. Donnelly; her parents, James and Doris Corwin Lockington; brother, Alan Lockington. She is survived by her children, Carol (Dave) Hinman, Kathleen (Mike) Traver, John (Betsy) Donnelly, Daniel (Adriana) Donnelly, Thomas (Veronica Palmer) Donnelly; her grandchildren, Holly (Nick) Holden, Liza (Abe Burns) Hinman, Jack and Patrick Donnelly, Erin Traver, Willem and Annie Donnelly; her brothers, James (Jackie) and Peter (Cathy) Lockington; her brother-in-law, Peter Donnelly; also survived by many loved nieces, nephews, friends from the West Irondequoit Central School District and lifelong neighbors from Kellwood Drive.

Joyce was born in Rochester, NY and was a proud alumna of St. Monica School and Nazareth Academy. She was married to John (Jack) E. Donnelly on September 15, 1956 and they were married for 53 years before Jack's death in 2009. They lived and raised their 5 children in West Irondequoit and Joyce continued to live in her beloved home for another 10 years. When her youngest son started school, Joyce returned to the workplace and built a successful career with the West Irondequoit Central School District, a career she loved and where she met many lifelong friends. Joyce and Jack loved nothing more than spending time with their family, including travel across the US and Ireland. She loved to watch her kids, and later her grandkids, play hockey and lacrosse; she was the ultimate travel sports mom. Joyce was the most loving mother and grandmother and will be missed tremendously.

The family wishes to extend our gratitude to the staff at the Jewish Home, Greenhouse Cottage #3 -home 1, for their devoted care of our Mom throughout this difficult year.
