As far as brothers are concerned – Jan was THE BEST. We had a special relationship because he was eight years older and took good care of me like a second dad. I shall never forget that night during WWII in the Netherlands when he secretly lowered himself out of the second floor bedroom window by a rope tied to his bed post. I was very ill and weak, and he presumed I was going to die. It was 4 a.m. - curfew time! He could easily have been shot by the occupying forces, but love for his little sis made him throw caution to the wind. He managed to milk what he jokingly called "Betsy, the cow" in a neighbouring farmer's pasture. I shall never forget that night when he risked his life for me. That's brotherly love for you!!

My deepest sympathy to you Gloria & family, I worked with Jan at RP Fedder Corp for many many years, and he told me many stories from the war and what he did, he was great at storytelling. Many fond memories of Jan, he was a sweetheart. I remember him walking in everyone smelling of Donut delite donuts, (but he only had coffee, he said LOL) RIP Sue Holmes

Eternal joy and memories, stay in our hearts forever, Strengthening our special bond, That parting cannot sever. Now it's time to journey on, so let your faith be strong, For I am in a better place..... I'm home where I belong.
